Creating the Soundtracks for Life

The Rain Never Felt So Good

A little more than a year ago, I received a Facebook message from a young man whom I did not know. He expressed interest in the work I was doing with the label and volunteered his services. We spoke on the phone and after a few conversations we agreed to meet. One meeting turned into another and soon he became a valued member of my team.

Months into our relationship, he shared this project with me. Admittedly, I was a little nervous to listen to it. I was afraid that I wouldn’t like it and that my rejection of his project would put our newly forged working relationship in jeopardy. To my great fortune, my fears were put to rest.

Allow me now, to introduce to you,  Nathan “Drizz” Johnson, a hip hop artist with a poet’s soul. His debut album Soulful Rain: Love Sessions, Volume 1, is an exploration of love in our modern-day world.  It embraces a multitude of styles, from the auto-tuned hooks a la T-Pain, to the ever-green melodies of Stevie Wonder and the soft touch of artists such as Floetry.

Believe me. It’s musical. Produced by Detroit’s own Marquis and Eric Johnson of the mega-watt band, Hot Sauce, Soulful Rain offers a fresh take on RnB, Hip Hop and Soul.

Soulful Rain: Love Sessions, Volume 1 is available on all major digital retailers like CD Baby,  iTunes and Amazon. Take a glimpse at the man himself  by visiting Drizz’s website,
